I received my BA from Ohio University. I was lucky enough to dive into my studio art classes with some of the best artists around (OK, I may be a little biased but really; best artists, PERIOD). The faculty at OU thrived on making their mini artists question, critique, lose their mind, & question their art some more. Until they felt that they may truly die from lack of conceptual ideas, much less the manifestation of these ‘ideas’. I graduated in 2011, with a handful of paintings that were good enough to throw on a website. I’ve spent my time since college focusing less on conceptual ideas & more on the materials in hand. While discovering what my materials can do for me, I find myself never being able to fight the urge to add more color & texture. I’ve given up on fighting this urge and now embrace it. I continue to find new ways to manipulate the paint & manifest my ideas. I encourage you to take notice to the variation in color, value, texture & movement in my art. These paintings are simply abstractions of everyday life, feelings & concerns. They’re inspired by my surroundings & are focused far more on the materials than the message.

An Ode to Mrs. Judy Ross...

Hey Everyone!!!

First and foremost I wanted to take a second to thank an artist that is near and dear to my heart. Mrs. Judy Ross, teaches at St. Francis DeSales High School, and is retiring soon. I wanted to tell her thank you for giving me an artistic outlet and teaching me that I could be an artist. She is the primary reason I studied art in College, and reminds me that every child has the ability to be an artist. You just need to help them find their inner-artistic voice, I hope to one day be half the teacher she was to me and my classmates. CONGRATULATIONS Mrs. Ross on retiring, I wish you the best. Maybe the students need to bring brownies to YOU in celebration.

On a side note: just to keep everyone up to date... I am currently booking some dates for the month of Febuary for
Colors & Bottles (<<<CHECK THEM OUT). I am currently scheduled for Febuary 11th and 26th. I am also working on getting some merchandise and paintings ready for my Etsy Site. The site will be up and running for a GRAND-OPENING in early March. I have a commisioned piece and I working on, and meeting with new people for possible commissioned pieces in the future. I have been submitting artwork like crazy to local galleries, so hopefully I will have a few gallery announcments coming up. Well that's all folks... please keep in touch and feel free to contact me via email at brittany.ann.hahn@gmail.com.

Also, keep in mind I will be instructing one of my Favorite paintings on Febuary 11th at Plum Run Winery in Grove City. You can always book private events with Colors & Bottles and request me as an artist, you just need 10 people and we can provide the space/venue if needed.

I will be in touch soon, with new photos!

Peace, Love, & ART!
