Happy Holidays! During this time, I have chosen to abandon my blog here on blogspot... the GOOD news - A am moving to Tumblr! I much more visually stimulating blog, so happy perusing friends!
I received my BA from Ohio University. I was lucky enough to dive into my studio art classes with some of the best artists around (OK, I may be a little biased but really; best artists, PERIOD). The faculty at OU thrived on making their mini artists question, critique, lose their mind, & question their art some more. Until they felt that they may truly die from lack of conceptual ideas, much less the manifestation of these ‘ideas’. I graduated in 2011, with a handful of paintings that were good enough to throw on a website. I’ve spent my time since college focusing less on conceptual ideas & more on the materials in hand. While discovering what my materials can do for me, I find myself never being able to fight the urge to add more color & texture. I’ve given up on fighting this urge and now embrace it. I continue to find new ways to manipulate the paint & manifest my ideas. I encourage you to take notice to the variation in color, value, texture & movement in my art. These paintings are simply abstractions of everyday life, feelings & concerns. They’re inspired by my surroundings & are focused far more on the materials than the message.

Sparkspace | A Creative Team
I am happy to announce that these paintings are now happily residing in their forever homes! A special thanks to Sparkspace, in Columbus, Ohio for showcasing my work each month! I will be popping through Sparkspace this week to replace these paintings with new ones.
Sparkspace is a great space for small groups to large corporations meet to further expand their leadership, culture, or vision. Located in the heart of downtown Columbus, Ohio; the building was previously [for 100+ years (!)] a paint factory. The building now holds spaces for not only Sparkspace but law firms, an interior design firm, and a photography studio. One of the creative spaces that is my favorite among many others, is the space that still holds a GIANT piece of pigment mixing industrial tank. Take a moment to check this place out - in person, will give you a chance to see my paintings on display in their artist's gallery and their various conference/meeting spaces.
