I received my BA from Ohio University. I was lucky enough to dive into my studio art classes with some of the best artists around (OK, I may be a little biased but really; best artists, PERIOD). The faculty at OU thrived on making their mini artists question, critique, lose their mind, & question their art some more. Until they felt that they may truly die from lack of conceptual ideas, much less the manifestation of these ‘ideas’. I graduated in 2011, with a handful of paintings that were good enough to throw on a website. I’ve spent my time since college focusing less on conceptual ideas & more on the materials in hand. While discovering what my materials can do for me, I find myself never being able to fight the urge to add more color & texture. I’ve given up on fighting this urge and now embrace it. I continue to find new ways to manipulate the paint & manifest my ideas. I encourage you to take notice to the variation in color, value, texture & movement in my art. These paintings are simply abstractions of everyday life, feelings & concerns. They’re inspired by my surroundings & are focused far more on the materials than the message.

Pebbles & Pathways Series at High Rd. Gallery

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I want to send a special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my 14 year old nephew, Mitchel; and to my 8 year old niece, Alexis. It takes a special set of siblings to be born on the same day and still enjoy each other so much, well when they're not
arguing! ;)

Please take the time to 'LIKE' me on FACEBOOK. Thanks!

Here's the latest sneak peak of my paintings that are showing the ABX Studio, at High Road Gallery in Worthington, Ohio. Make sure to make it out while the show is up: Sept. 26th- Oct. 20th.

Ignore the Masking tape. :) Pebbles & Pathways II.

The Outer Edges of Reality : Abstract Expressionist Artists

Hi Everyone!!!

I am very excited to announce I will be showing at the High Road Gallery, in Worthington, Ohio. The opening reception will be held Sunday, Oct. 7th 2-4. I am in a group show with Abx Studio & Guests. For those of you who do not know Abx, they are a group of artists whose primary goal is to manifest emotions through abstract art forms, 2-D and 3-D. I am excited that I will also being showing with Michael Bush, a local Columbus, Ohio artist. Here is a Sneak Peak of what I will be showing.
I also wanted to share a painting that I will be teaching to beginner painters with a company called Colors & Bottles. My spin on a Chevron Print. Enjoy.

I hope you enjoyed these, I will have more posts soon!

Sunday Funday with the Arts.

I'm back!

I am so happy to share with you some photos of how I spent my night. I decided to have my niece Alexis over for the night. I wanted to test out some painting techniques for kids, and what better way to do it, than to test it on your 8 year old niece?!? Maybe it's because I do not have kids (...yet) or am not blessed to teach kids and be around them on a daily basis, BUT every time I hang out with my nieces and nephews they blow me away. They are truly intelligent little souls.

Alexis definitely didn't hold back, she was full of her normal sarcastic behavior. It's so fun to watch her grow up and evolve into a little impromptu comedienne, smart, beautiful little girl. I can't wait to see what her future holds. So without further adieu, here are some photos from our Sunday-Funday Arts Extravaganza.Disregard the poor quality photos... as explained in my previous posts... my camera has bit the dust (RIP). So, my cell phone will have to do for now.

Alexis in Action with our 1st painting of the night.
Working in the stamp effects... she did this on top of the solid colors once they dried.
These are the 'stamps' I made. I wrapped yarn around an old to-go box lid (you can use anything hanging around the house), and used pipe-cleaners to create a 'spider'-like shape.
This time we used the masking tape to create her name, and she chose how she wanted to paint the solid colors on, and as you can see she is onto the stamping process of the painting.
Alexis the little artist.
Finished name painting. THIS WILL LOOK GREAT in her room! I love the neon acrylic paints!!!
This is my favorite of the two, this too will look great just about anywhere! :)
Luigi likes it when Alexis comes over too, he gets dressed up in pipe-cleaners!
I hope you enjoyed these photos, and found inspiration for your little ones! I had a great time tonight, and I hope Alexis did too (it sure did look like it!)

Keep Calm and Carry On.

Hi Friends and Family!!!

I am happy to show you my second painting of the series, Pebbles & Pathways. To remind you, this series is focusing on life's journey. Specifically my journey, and where I am physically and mentally while completing these individual paintings. My first of this series was red, white, and black... it had loopy pathways intersecting with pathways full of pebbles. This painting as you can see has no clear and loopy pathways, but plenty of pebbles along the way. These are abstract interpretations, and I invite you to interpret them how you feel fits.

I apologize for the poor photo quality, my cameras and I are fighting. So, I am stuck with only my cell phone for the time being.

Keep Calm and Carry On. 16x20, pastel, watercolor, and collage on canvas.
As always... more photos to come!! And I would like to thank those who emailed me once I reached my 1,000th view. Your photos will be arriving in the near future. :)

Thank you all for your support and following.
