I received my BA from Ohio University. I was lucky enough to dive into my studio art classes with some of the best artists around (OK, I may be a little biased but really; best artists, PERIOD). The faculty at OU thrived on making their mini artists question, critique, lose their mind, & question their art some more. Until they felt that they may truly die from lack of conceptual ideas, much less the manifestation of these ‘ideas’. I graduated in 2011, with a handful of paintings that were good enough to throw on a website. I’ve spent my time since college focusing less on conceptual ideas & more on the materials in hand. While discovering what my materials can do for me, I find myself never being able to fight the urge to add more color & texture. I’ve given up on fighting this urge and now embrace it. I continue to find new ways to manipulate the paint & manifest my ideas. I encourage you to take notice to the variation in color, value, texture & movement in my art. These paintings are simply abstractions of everyday life, feelings & concerns. They’re inspired by my surroundings & are focused far more on the materials than the message.

The Important Things in Life.

Bonjour!

I took a couple days off from creating... and although I told myself I would dive right into my new series, and not take a break until I was satisfied. THIS break was worth it!

My Niece and Nephew enjoying some time at the apt. pool.

I got to spend a couple days with these two wild childs at the pool. 1 sunburn, an inner-tube casualty, and 14 noodle fights later this girl was worn out.

Will be painting later today... more photos to come! :)

Peace and Love my friends!

On-Demand is my new addiction...

Pebbles and Pathways I  is still a work in process as most things in this girl's life... here are my latest adjustments I've made all while enjoying a little Weeds, Veep, and Californication. I am not a huge fan of cable but I will admit I am a HBO and Showtime on-demand whore... and I love it. I use to paint to tunes and only tunes, but now I choose to paint and create to marathons of witty, dry, and sarcastic humor-my favorite kind of humor.

Pebbles and Pathways I... finished photos TBA.

Well, back to painting... and season 4 of Nurse Jackie...

Peace, love, and ART folks.

P&P, A new beginning.

Hey all!!!

I've been MIA for the last 6 months... but I'm BACK! :) Life gave me some twists and turns, and I've decided to get back on the art train. The transition from art student to adult, to artist is a strange one, but I feel as if my artist voice is regaining strength and getting stronger each painting or creative project I take on. I am making a public promise to myself and everyone to push myself to the fullest in terms of my art. I am excited to announce I am working on a series entitled: Pebbles and Pathways.

Here is a little sneak peak of what I have been working on, and what to expect with this series. Pebbles and Pathways will include many different supports, canvas, paper, acetate, all sizes-giant and small. This series is a reflection of the different paths and choices life brings you, some are clear cut, some loop you around in all directions, while others are difficult to see and painful to pursue--BUT one must always decide which road they're going to take and what their next move is. So without further adieu... my apologies for the low photo quality (high res photos to come)...
My work in progress... the painting AND the studio space :)

I wish the best to everyone, and hope that you enjoy checking back here frequently to see what I am up to. I will continue to post regularly not only my current projects, but to show finished high-res photos, and to show some things that are currently inspiring me-and maybe they'll inspire you too!

Peace, Love, and Art.
